Group Camp 2024

We will be holding a camp for all sections of the 14th Hove Scout Group at Hillside from the 28th to 30th June. This is a great opportunity for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to get to know the young people of the other sections and to meet the Section Leaders. OSM Invites will be sent out closer to the date. Any parents that are interested in attending the camp will need a Scout DBS and they will need to complete some initial training

Remembrance Parade

This is one of just 3 events in the year that we expect all members of the Group to attend.  We will be meeting up in the playground of St Nicholas School at 10:10am before starting the parade at 10:30am. We will proceed up Locks Hill (the road will be closed to traffic) to Easthill park for the service. The Service will start at 10.45am with the 2 minute silence at 11am. The service will finish after the official wreaths have been laid.  Beavers, Cubs and Scouts should be in full smart uniform. If you do not have the Scout Activity trousers then black or grey school trousers are acceptable but not leggings. Trainers should only be worn if your child does not have any black or dark coloured school/smart shoes.

Parents are welcome to attend but they cannot walk in the road with the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. At the park you will also not be able to stand with your Beaver, Cub or Scout.

Please do not come in to the school playground with your Beaver, Cub or Scout. There will be Leaders from the 14th Hove present and they will make sure your child is OK.  Please make sure your child has eaten breakfast before the parade. If the weather permits we would like the young people to walk without coats, please layer up under their uniform if it’s cold. If it is raining then of course they will be able to wear their coats.

Please make sure you let your section Leader know you have collected your child from the park and please make sure they are aware that you will come to collect them, they must not go looking for you in the park.

Everyone is welcome to join us (please bring your own tools if you have them)

Thank you to The Museum of Gardening in Hassocks for their kind donation of plants.
